Those sunflowers at Summerhill Pyramid Winery are new this year, and I love them. We had two sneak away sessions for this wedding, and they were both incredible. Which is great, because today was pretty emotional.

We’re going to start at a lovely little AirBNB in East Kelowna. As always, details!

The dress was ornate, it had a flow to it. The flowers were creamy yellows and deep blues, complimenting the eclectic bridesmaid pallet.

Over at the guys house, they had everything ready for me. It was a large, well lit room with a lot of space for six goofy guys. And their goofy socks. More about that later.

And before long, he was ready for a first look!

Over at the girls, we had just begun with the dress. It was getting emotional, props to mom for doing her best to keep the mood light.

And we were off! The first look took place at a nearby park. Although the forecast called for it, miraculously, it hadn’t rained yet.

This is how I’ll always remember the first look. A lot of emotion, and a bridal party off in the distance cheering them on.

I’m glad I get to stay out of the way for first looks, this one was so special. She tapped him on the shoulder, then he turned around and looked at her. Then they hugged and tried not to cry for a really long time.

It didn’t work. After giving them their time, it was time to take photos of the bridal party. This is a pretty decently sized bridal party, at 5 for each side. So, a party. And they brought the party!

Remember earlier I mentioned the socks? Take a look.

The girls looked amazing too. Check out these colours!

A few more photos, then it was time to head to Baxters Pub.

If you haven’t been to Baxter’s you should go. The food is fantastic, they get a cold beer in your hands in no time (even if there’s 12 of you in a bridal party!) and the owner, Ron, is the friendliest fella.

So friendly, we could do this –

Yup, they’re standing on the counter, Coyote stye.

After a quick and extremely friendly game of pool, we made our way to Mission Hill. The clouds were heavy, and it had begun to rain.

The ceremony was beautiful. And emotional. So gosh darn so much that.

A group shot, then everyone went inside to drink. We went to the sunflower field.

The light filtering through the sunflowers was exactly what I wanted. It cast shadows, and the yellow and green gave the photos a lush look I’m crazy about.

Unfortunately, though, this is where I’ll have to leave you. Keep in mind, this isn’t all the photos. This is a quite the sampler though, 45 of the photos taken today.

It doesn’t feel like 45 photos does it?
